SunTech’s mission or Massive Transformational Purpose (MTP) is:
Saving & extending lives by enabling the world to know their vascular health
It is really exciting when we get the chance to support other organizations who share a similar mission, such as the American Heart Association. The American Heart Association funds more cardiovascular and stroke research than any U.S. organization except the federal government. Some of the activities that the AHA funds include:
- Public Health Education, including helping people identify the warning signs for heart attacks and strokes
- Research seeking new discoveries related to causes, prevention, and treatment of heart disease and stroke
- Professional Education & Training
- Community Service focused on detection of cardiovascular and stroke-related problems
In addition to all this great work, over the past year the AHA has been focused on protecting the 120 million people in the United States who currently have one or more cardiovascular conditions who are more likely to be seriously affected by COVID-19 by:
- Providing healthcare workers with ventilator training
- Investing $2.5 million in lifesaving research
- Training hospitals and communities in CPR
- Helping accelerate the discovery of antiviral drugs
- Advocating to provide families greater access to care
How can you support this great cause?
The official AHA Heart Walk has gone virtual again this year, so we will be holding our own SunTech Heart Walk at our facility in Morrisville, NC to help raise funds for this great cause. The SunTech Heart Walk will be a fun, group walk departing from the SunTech lobby at 12 pm on Thursday, October 7th.

Why do we participate in the Heart Walk?
The Heart Walk is a great way for us to socially connect and get moving – all while making a great impact in our community and saving lives. By registering and fundraising for the Heart Walk, we are helping:
- Save babies and kids who have congenital heart defects
- Train thousands in life-saving CPR
- Fund groundbreaking brain and heart research
- Champion health equity for all
We are looking forward to walking together, in solidarity of this cause!
Did you know? For every hour of brisk walking, life expectancy for some people may increase by two hours! Want to learn more about the benefits of walking? Check out the AHA’s website here.
